Aftercare

When you have a new tattoo, there are a few things you need to know. Getting the tattoo is just the beginning, and the second half begins, the healing process. Fortunately, healing your new tattoo for good results isn't complicated. Remember, you must follow the right instructions and recommendations to ensure proper healing.

So are you ready? Let's dive in...

Remember these rules for taking care of your new tattoo:

- Always start with clean hands.

- Let the bandage stay on the tattoo until the next morning.

- After removing the bandage, wash the tattoo. It's essential to remove all blood, ointment, and excess ink. Don’t clean the tattoo under running water or soak it in a bathtub. Pat it dry carefully with a paper or a clean cotton towel. Do not scrub.

- Once the tattoo is clean and dry after its first wash, wait at least three hours or until the evening before applying a healing cream. You can use a healing cream from us or pantothenol from your local pharmacy.

- Do not cover the tattoo with a thick layer of cream. Applying very thin layers of cream three times a day after washing the tattoo is sufficient.

- While your tattoo is healing, only use perfume-free soap to clean it. Do not use anything else until it has healed.

Now let's talk about when it's time to show the world your new tattoo. While healing it's critical you follow these rules

- Avoid direct sunlight or sunbathing for at least three weeks. Do not use sunscreen lotion until the tattoo is fully healed.

- Refrain from soaking in water or swimming of any kind for two weeks.

- Ensure that no one or pets make contact with your tattoo during the healing process. No one or nothing must touch your new tattoo until it is fully healed.

- Wear only soft cotton over your new tattoo, and if possible, allow it to be exposed to air.

- Avoid wearing tight clothing against the new tattoo.

- Refrain from wearing jewellery near your new tattoo until it is completely healed.

- It's important to exercise caution when engaging in any sports or physical activities, and ideally, you should wait until your tattoo is fully healed. If you are someone who regularly participates in training and cannot wait until your tattoo is fully healed, it is advisable to avoid contact sports and be mindful not to stretch the skin too much. Ensure that your tattoo does not come into contact with surfaces of training equipment, and remember to wash your tattoo immediately after your workout routine.

- To speed up the healing process, drink 2-3 litres of water during the first 4-5 days.

That is it. Congratulations on your new tattoo. We are looking forward to welcoming you again.
